The question that’s coming
“So, what did you get up to this year?”
Somebody is going to ask what you did this year. Probably over dinner, probably somebody who means well. And you will hear yourself say “not much, really.”
You got through a year that took more out of you than anyone watching could see. None of that goes on the kind of list you were taught to make, so when you go looking for evidence of your own year you come back empty handed and decide you wasted it.
- The phone call you rehearsed forty times in your head, and then made.
- Every birthday you remembered for everybody else.
- The kitchen at 9pm, still going after everyone else had stopped.
- The weeks you kept turning up while running on empty.
This is an hour of looking back with a different measure.
How the hour goes
What we’ll actually do
Why the usual review comes back empty
We’ll spend a bit of time on why the usual year-end review comes back empty for an AuDHD brain, which has very little to do with how much you did and everything to do with what gets counted.
Three questions, in the room
You’ll fill in another kind of inventory while I’m there with you. Nothing to share out loud, and nothing to type in the chat unless you want to.
A page you can stand behind
You’ll finish the hour holding a page called The year that happened: your year written down in a way you can stand behind the next time somebody asks.
Who’s running it
Hello, I’m Jenny
I spent 16 years teaching in secondary schools, music mostly, with a head of year job on top. In March 2021 I was signed off with burnout and I never went back. The following year, at 37, I was diagnosed with ADHD and then autism, which brought relief first and then grief for all the years I hadn’t known.
When I went looking for support there was almost nothing for late diagnosed adults with jobs and families, so I started making it. That has become a book, a podcast, a membership and one-to-one coaching, all for autistic and ADHD adults who found out later in life. Everything I make starts from the same place: understanding yourself, not fixing yourself.

In their words
What people say about learning with me
Thank you Jenny for making me laugh today with the turd in a box comment. Had a tough day today and pushing myself to join this evening was the best part of my day. You always explain things so well for me to make sense of AUDHD and how I can adapt my lifestyle going forward to be a happier version of myself. Thank you again @Jenny Lucas for tonight always so full of fab information to guide us all to understand ourselves better xxx
I felt very safe and comfortable in opening up. She was very engaging, caring and welcoming.
I’ve always struggled with vaguely affirming sentiments around my neurodivergence - “you’re unique and special!”... instead, I’ve been craving real, actual step-by-step frameworks for challenging thoughts and behaviours that aren’t useful. Jenny has provided exactly that, and I’m very grateful.
The practical bits
Before you sign up
When is it, and what does it cost?
Monday 23 November 2026, 7pm to 8pm UK time, on Zoom. It’s free.
Do I have to have my camera on?
No. Cameras off is completely fine. The chat is there if you want it, and ignoring it is also fine.
What if I can’t make it live?
Sign up anyway. A replay goes out to everyone who registers and stays available for a week, so put your name down even if you already know you can’t be there on the night.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No. Bring something to write on, paper or your notes app, whichever is easier, and that’s it.
I’m running on empty. Is this one more thing?
It’s an hour, you don’t have to speak, and nobody will ask you to share. If an hour feels like too much right now, sign up for the replay and watch it in pieces when you can.
Will you be selling something?
Yes, at the end. I’ll talk about how you can join my membership, Reclaim Your SELF, which opens to new members that night, to do this kind of work with a community of like-minded people, because it doesn’t have to be done alone.
There’s no requirement to stay for that part. The masterclass is designed to give you something useful on its own, and once you’ve got what you need from it, you’re welcome to stay, with no obligation.
Who it’s for
Late diagnosed autistic and ADHD adults who are already dreading the question. You do not need to have had a terrible year to come. You do not need to have had a good one either.
It isn’t therapy, and it isn’t crisis support. If you’re struggling to keep yourself safe right now, please contact your GP or call Samaritans on 116 123.
Monday 23 November, 7pm UK
One hour, free, cameras optional. Sign up even if you already know you’ll be watching the replay.
